sunday night thoughts…

• Squirrels are EVIL… one got into a transformer and we lost power 45 minutes before the service.
• Everybody stepped up and we didn’t miss a beat… a generator showed up (legal or not, I don’t know) and we were able to have the service on the theater.
• Hey… you gotta be flexible when you are portable… I am very proud of all our volunteer’s.
• Tense message today… I guess should always be that way when the topic is hell.
• I used Luke chapter 16… Some highlights of the message (no podcast this week)
  • Hell will be filled with people who appear to have it all together
  • Hell is a place of unspeakable pain.
  • Hell is permanent.
  • Hell is NOT necessary.
  • Do your heart break for those going there?
• Next week we will discuss Heaven… it would be a great Sunday to INVITE someone with you!
• Our next series, Stupid Christians starts in two weeks,,, I cant wait 😉
• Several folks from Lifesong Kidz just finished a planning meeting here at the house… I love their attitude and desire to teach OUR kids about Jesus in creative ways.
• College football starts THIS THURSDAY!!!   Can I get an AMEN?!?!

sunday night thoughts…

• Great day at Lifesong church!
• Kicked off our “So You’re Dead Now What” series and talked about a really fun subject… Death 😉
• To set the mood we had a hearse in front of the theater and a casket on the stage.  It made for some great conversations.
• Very proud of the band today.  They had some curve balls thrown at them this week with two members being out sick and they did an AWESOME job!  Their cover of  Nicklebacks “If Today Was Your Last Day” really helped set the tone for the message.
• We had several people volunteer today and become a part of Lifesong… VERY COOL!
• Lots of guests today… this makes me happy.
• The staff and volunteers of Lifesong ROCK… we just finished building custom carts and working in the front of house trailer.  Some folks gave their entire Sunday to get it knocked out.  Thanks guys for all your hard work!
• We ordered 15,000 postcards for our next series this past week… I think they will get attention 😉
• I am proud to be your pastor!

I am concerned about your dog…

sunday night thoughts…

• Great day at Lifesong church.
• We finished up our Trinity Series today and talked about Jesus in the Trinity… some highlights of the message were
  • Jesus’ power is at work in you to do what pleases Him… NOT US!  We seem to always want to make it about us.
  • Jesus’ power is at work THROUGH us so that we can make a difference for His Kingdom, not our own.
  • Jesus loves idiots.
  • Our weakness is Jesus’ opportunity.
  • Jesus’ work did not stop on the cross.
• The volunteers of Lifesong are absolutely INCREDIBLE… YOU are making an impact in eternity.
• Got to give a shout out to the band… they have REALLY stepped up this last couple of weeks.  I am VERY proud of them.
• I am really excited to start our new series, “So Your Dead Now What,”  next Sunday… this is going to be fun.
• I saw one of the most incredible and funny sights during load out today involving a light truss and a monkey… you had to be there 😉
• Ever wonder what your kids are doing while you are in “Big” church?  Check out the Lifesong Kidz website for a recap of their morning.
• Just got in from hanging out with some guys from Lifesong and shooting alot of high powered firearms… the church that shoots together stays together 😉

I am not happy…

I was going to interview Mark Richt (God’s REAL favorite 😉 )… pretty interesting take on the “job” of the pastor from Perry Noble.

Sunday night thoughts…

• Got to be honest and say that this was one of the most dificult services that I have ever done.
• I made the announcement that Jenny (Worship leader) was no longer on the staff of Lifesong church… very difficult and painful.
• As I said today during the service… Jenny’s position of staff has changed but not our commitment to love and support her and her family.
• I am proud of the way that Lifesong received the news.
• The mission of Lifesong had NOT changed… we are just getting started and the best is yet to come!
• I am honored to be your pastor.

You never know what you’ll see at Lifesong…

sunday night thoughts…

• Awesome day at Lifesong.  Seems like we are really hitting our stride.
• Talked about the Holy Spirit today… some highlights of the message were…
  • Do you feel bad because you have sinned or do you feel bad because you have grieved someone that you love?
  • The Holy Spirit will lead us to ALL truth.  Most of us will settle for less.
  • We can’t hear God’s voice because we aren’t willing to hear everything He has to say.   If you tune out the convicting voice of the Holy Spirit you wont hear anything else.
  • Some people have bigger temples than others.
  • There are some things you just cant explain… you must experience them.
• Chainsaws are EVIL… listen to the podcast to find out why 😉
• LOTS of guests today… I like guests!
• Love seeing new people step up and volunteer to make an IMPACT at Lifesong!  If you aren’t  plugged in yet, shoot josh@lifesonglive.com an email and he will get you taken care of.
• Lifesong Kidz is really jumping!  Their new series on worship is awesome and the decorations looked great.
• Check out the video Craze used to highlight the rules… I think we should do one for the grown ups 😉
• The band did a great job leading us today… but I missed seeing the “girls” on stage.
• Second highest offering of the year… the Summer is always tough (especially on new churches) and it was very much needed.  Thank you for being a generous church.
• I feel a wave coming… get ready for the ride!
