Rated M starts this Sunday…

I am really excited about this series.  DO NOT miss this Sunday, seriously… the band will be rockin’ and the message is one that EVERYONE needs to hear.

Sunday night thoughts…

• I am not sure how but Greg and Josh broke in to the theater early today and had most of the stage and sound set up BEFORE 8 am!  I told you that we will do WHATEVER it takes to fulfill the VISION of Lifesong… Including BREAKING AND ENTERING 😉 !
• Great crowd today… this is the best three week period for attendance since we began… VERY COOL!
• We purchased a new trailer for the front of house stuff.  It really made a difference today with set-up!   I cant wait to fill it up with some new COOL things 😉 !
• The band did an INCREDIBLE job today… even a man (and a woman) down!  The bands cover of What About Now was awesome!
• Changed some things up in the lobby today… it LOOKED and SMELLED great…
• I felt like I dropped the ball delivering the message today.  Some messaged just “click,”  this was not one of those messages…
• My wife was able to be in the ENTIRE service today for only the third time since we started… maybe that’s why I struggled with the message, she is HOT 🙂
• Jason did ANOTHER great job with the intro video today… VERY FUNNY.
• Looks like the new website will be up this week… it is looking good.
• Cant wait to kick off RATED M FOR MARRIAGE next week… it is going to be a blast.
• We have ANOTHER 15,000 postcards hitting next week to go with the new series… wonder if they will get the same response as the last one?  I PRAY so…
• The volunteers of Lifesong are the BEST… Thank you for ALL that you do!

Go away Jesus…

I was reading Matthew chapter eight the other day and God really got my attention.  There is alot of action that takes place in this chapter, but this one stood out for some reason…

“When Jesus arrived on the other side of the lake, in the region of the Gadarenes, two men who were possessed by demons met him. They lived in a cemetery and were so violent that no one could go through that area. They began screaming at him, “Why are you interfering with us, Son of God? Have you come here to torture us before God’s appointed time?” There happened to be a large herd of pigs feeding in the distance. So the demons begged, “If you cast us out, send us into that herd of pigs.” “All right, go!” Jesus commanded them. So the demons came out of the men and entered the pigs, and the whole herd plunged down the steep hillside into the lake and drowned in the water.” Matthew 8:28 – 32

HUGE miracle, right?  What stood out to me was not the miracle, it was the peoples reaction…

The herdsmen fled to the nearby town, telling everyone what happened to the demon-possessed men. Then the entire town came out to meet Jesus, but they begged him to go away and leave them alone. Matthew 8:33-34

As I read this I was thinking to myself… what idiots!  They had just seem Jesus perform the impossible, they had heard of all the things that He had been doing, and they BEGGED HIM TO GO AWAY!

Then it hit me… I wonder how many times I have pulled away from God , asked Him to get away because He did the unexpected, didnt do things the way I wanted, or the cost to follow Him seemed too much?  How many times have I begged Jesus to go away?

Sunday night thoughts…

• Great crowd, especially considering it was a holiday weekend!  I really though that we would be down today…
• We are up 140% over this last Sunday from a year ago!  Very cool!
• Lots of guests today… that never gets old!
• Much thanks to David (aka Scooba Gooch) for playing drums today…
• I enjoyed preaching the message today… what does “Heavy D,” stupid drivers, and knowing Jesus have in common?  Check the podcast to find out!
• Pray for the Grubb’s family is the loss of Cary’s mother…
• The Production Tea did an AWESOME job with everything today… you guys ROCK!!!
• Lots of kids today… I like kids!
• I know that the weather was crappy… but you people have GOT to wake up and make some NOISE during the service… show some LOVE!
• I am going to try this Facebook thing (maybe)… there are alot of Lifesong peeps on there!
• Good staff meeting tonight… love the people that I get to do ministry with!  Some really cool things coming up.
• I know I say this alot… I love this church, and can believe that I get the chance to pastor it!

• We kicked off NAKED this morning… to say that our postcards created a little bit of a stir would be an understatement 😉
• Today was one of the HARDEST messages that I have ever preached… and I meant EVERY word!
• The band did an awesome job AGAIN today… Chris and Melanie nailed Stained Glass Masquerade…
• The video roll in was priceless… made me giggle
• Several of you turned in questions today for our Careful What You Ask Formessage series that’s coming up… really good stuff!
• Ladies, don’t forget next Sunday is a girls night out to see (the hottie) Toby Mac in concert… meet at the theater @ 2, doors to the Macon Coliseum open at 5 pm, cost is $10.  Send an email to info@lifesonglive.com if you want in!
• Who are YOU bringing with you next week?  Trust me, you DO NOT want to miss it!  Rumor has it that Bono may be in the service…

Sunday night thoughts…

• Good to get back to it today… really missed Lifesong last week!
• Kevin Garrison preached for me today… awesome message and an even better friend.  Be praying for Kevin and his family as they begin a new chapter in their ministry.
• Announced two new additions to the ministry team of Lifesong.  Josh Miller is coming on staff as our Director of Volunteers and Greg Wynn is our new Executive Pastor… I am excited about the what God is getting ready to do through Lifesong!
• Missed preaching today… but I am ready to BRING IT next week! 
• 15,000 NAKED post cards hit mailboxes next week… I think they will get some attention 😉 !
• Much props to Josh, Pae, Allison, Kathy & Mike for giving up their Saturday morning and completely reorganizing/cleaning the small trailer… load in went GREAT this morning!
• Excited about our new web-site that will be launching this week!  VERY COOL!
• We set a goal for our Love Revolution special offering that was crazy… we didn’t quite make it, but YOU really stepped up in your giving!  Nearly $7000 was given to this offering and because of that we wrote the LARGEST ministry check in our short history!  I couldn’t be more proud to be your pastor… I know that many of you sacrificed to give and went WAY beyond the call.  Thank you for making an IMPACT, not just in this community but around the world!
