sunday night thoughts…

  • Good day at Lifesong church.
  • Week four of :Break Free.”  Used Hebrews 12:14-15 to talk about the prison of bitterness.  Some highlights of the message were…
    • Bitterness is a dangerous root that grows in the soil of hurt.  The greater the hurt the greater the potential for bitterness to take root.
    • A bitter person will contaminate others.
    • The longer you let the root of bitterness grow the BIGGER it becomes.
    • How to you kill it?  With forgiveness.
    • For most of us forgiveness will be a process.  How do you forgive…
      1. Chose to bless
      2. Chose to pray
      3. Chose to let it go
  • The band did a great job leading us in worship… even a man down.
  • The production team rarley gets the props they deserve but we are BLESSED with some awesome (and talented) people in that area.
  • Looking forward to the UNLEASH conference this Thursday.  We have had a ticket become available, so if you want to go send me an email at  mark@lifesonglive.com.
  • Had a blast with several peeps from Lifesong last night at DATE NIGHT… love “doing life” with you!
  • About to head out on a date with my wife… as much as I liked hanging with you on date night, I am looking forward to spending some time with my wife more 😉

sunday night thoughts…

  • Great day at Lifesong church… I know I say that a lot, but it is true 😉
  • Week three of Break Free.  Talked about the prison of religion.  Some highlights of the message were…
    • The root word for religion litterally means to “bind or tie up.”  I am pretty sure that’s NOT what Jesus meant when He said THIS.
    • People being drawn to religion is not a new thing.  The Apostle Paul was dealing with it a couple of thousand years ago.  He wrote the book of Galatians to deal with it.
    • Religion ALWAYS brings confusion because the wardens of religion bring “additives” to the Message.
    • Religion ALWAYS focuses on our works.  It is ME centered not CHRIST centered.
    • You can not make God love you any more than He already does.
  • Much props to the Rhodie’s… you guys got it DONE today!
  • Lots of guests back with us today…  It’s cool when the first time guests from last week INVITED someone to come with them this week!
  • The band ROCKED today… they are really hitting there stride.
  • Several of you signed up for DATE NIGHT this Saturday… if you haven’t signed up yet send an email to mark@lifesonglive.com.
  • Some have already brought shoes and socks for our IMPACT project… bring your “gently” used or buy new shoes and place them in the SHOE BOX in the lobby.
  • My awesome wife’s birthday is tomorrow… she just gets better with age!  Love you babe and happy early birthday!

Sunday night thoughts…

  • Great morning at Lifesong church!  Really thought that with the weather and winter break this week that attendance would be down, but we had a great crowd.
  • Week two of “Break Free.”  Spoke from John 5 about dealing with our disabilities.  Some highlights of the message were…
    • Everybody has a disability, some are more visible than others.
    • Jesus asking an invalid of thirty-eight year IF he wanted to be healed seems pretty insensitive.  Jesus understood that it is possible to live with a limp for so long that you DO NOT want to get up.
    • Your breakthrough will only come when your DESIRE is GREATER than you DISABILITY.
    • In order to deal with your disability you must stop ACCUSING others while EXCUSING yourself.
    • Three biblical principles for dealing with your disability…
      1. Take it to God
      2. Take it public
      3. Take it down
    • TONS of guests today!  AWESOME to see.
    • The band has really been amazing recently.  So proud of them and there heart for worship.  Although, I was a little worried that we would have a baby delivered on the stage with all the jumping 😉
    • I am enjoying preaching this series… seems like it is the right WORD at the right TIME
    • Giving has been down these last several weeks, that always adds stress and limits the impact that Lifesong can have in our community.  Would appreciate your prayers in this area.
    • You can also give online here 😉
    • Excited about partnering with First Baptist Forrest Park to help some of the underprivileged in that area.  Remember to buy shoes and socks and bring them to the theater over the next several weeks.  We will be taking a team up soon to make an impact in that area!
    • Enjoyed the snow this week… loved building a snowman and having a snowball fight with the girls.

Sunday night thoughts…

  • CRAZY hectic morning.  It is NEVER easy being portable, but some mornings are just over the top difficult… this was one of those mornings.
  • With that said, the volunteers of Lifesong are the BEST… you guys got it done!
  • Kicked off our “Break Free” series and talked about fighting for freedom.   Some highlights of the MESSAGE were…
    • If you are goung to experience freedom in your life there will be a fight.
    • Many of us have just accepted the fact that we will ALWAYS struggle with the same old sins and habits… that’s just NOT true (John 8:36).
    • The world teaches us to  NORMALIZE or MINIMIZE the sins in our life.
    • Before freedom can manifest in your life it must materialize in your mind (2 Corinthians 10:4-5).
    • What do you do when you struggle with sin in your life?  You pulverize the patterns of sin with the promises of God.
  • Several guests with us again today… VERY COOL!
  • Proud of the band for handling a curve ball at the last minute.
  • Praying for may of you who are going through difficult times right now!
  • That’s it… gotta get ready for the Lifesong Super Bowl party!  Lets go COLTS!!!
