sunday night thoughts…

  • Great day at Lifesong church… hard to belive that we are two years old!
  • Week three of our “Say What” series… Spoke from Luke chapter 7 and talked about what it takes to be the church that Jesus wants to build.  Some highlights of the MESSAGE were…
    • The ONLY institution that Jesus ever promised to build was the church because the church is the hope of the world.
    • If the church ever looses its passion for Jesus it looses its ability to make an impact for the Kingdom.
    • In order to be the church that Jesus wants to build we must walk with Jesus, regardless of where He goes.
    • Do we anticipate Jesus to do the impossible?
    • When you listen to Jesus sometimes He tells us to do some (seemingly) ridiculous things.
    • God always calls us to unfair fights… the reason that many churches are not forcefully advancing the Kingdom is because we are afraid to attempt the impossible when Jesus tells us to.
    • The best days of the church are ahead!
  • The band did an incredible job today.  I am really proud of them and their commitment to not play of safe and work to go to the next level.
  • Set up teams did great today – so fast that they had time to take a union coffee break 😉
  • We had a great time Thursday night partnering with Beaverbrook Elementary for their Fall Festival.  Proud of Lifesong for going out and making a difference.
  • Beaverbrook gave me a bullhorn… I like bullhorns 😉
  • That’s it, gotta go watch the Falcons beat up on the Cowboys.

sunday night thoughts…

  • Week two of our “Say What” series.  We talked about worry.  Some highlights of the message were…
    • Jesus understands that worry doesnt accomplish anything.
    • Not worrying does not equal not taking action.
    • We tend to worry about the wrong things… Matthew 6:31-33 pretty much sums it up
    • Difficult times will either draw you closer to God or farther away… the choice is yours.
    • Worry can be a great catalyst for spiritual growth.
  • The band did an “unplugged” set today and did a good job… got to be honest and say that I like the plugged in melt your face off version better though 😉
  • Just finished up with our life group.  Lots of fun!  If you have not gotten plugged in to one, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?  Send greg@lifesonglive.com an email to get set up.
  • It’s hard to believe that Lifesong turns two this coming week… what a great (and crazy) ride it had been and we are just getting started!

sunday night thoughts…

  • Really good day at Lifesong church… I was expecting to be way down in attendance today because of Fall break but we had a decent crowd.
  • Kicked off “Say What?” on some of the hard teachings of Jesus and talked about Forgiveness.  Some highlights of the message were…
    • If you are a Christ follower forgiving others is NOT a suggestion.
    • Forgiveness and restoration are two DIFFERENT things.
    • Forgiveness does not change the past but it does enlarge the future.
    • Forgiveness will not happen by accident… it is a choice that only you can make.
    • To or give a person you must pray for them, bless them, go the extra mile and choose to let it go.
  • The band did a great job today… really enjoyed the guitar solo accompanied by the Hulk Hogan move.  You just had to be there 😉
  • Several people signed up today to  help out with the Fall Festival at Beaverbrook on the 22nd… if you can help out send josh@lifesonglive.com an email.
  • Enjoyed taking the family up to Gatlinburg for a few days this past week… it was good to get away and spend some time with the girls.
  • Lots of sickness and stuff going on in peoples lives right now… I am praying for you!

Sunday night thoughts…

  • Wrapped up or Stupid Christians series today and talked about real Christianity.  Some highlights of the message were…
    • Spoke from Luke Chapter 10
    • A real Christian has the kind of compassion that compels you to cross the street and actually do something.
    • There are moments in life when the Holy Spirit makes sure you dont just see something but you truly notice it… whatever “it” is he wants YOU to act.
    • A real Christian is bold and understands that the goal of this life is NOT to end up at death safely but to make an IMPACT for eternity.
    • God may just want to use you on paths that no one else has gone down before.
    • A Real Christian will sacrifice because they understand that when you get involved with broken humanity it always costs something.
    • A real Christian will live with integrity of faith even when NO ONE is watching.
    • When the church stops BEING the church and starts DOING church we become a dead and useless monument.
  • The band did a good job today… they rocked the new song  “Solution.”
  • I love seeing new people getting plugged in and volunteering at Lifesong.  I truly believe that we will never understand what the power of this is until we get to the other side of eternity.
  • Had a great time hanging with some of the LIfesong peeps at date night on Saturday.  Just for the record I bowled a “Turkey” or a Terradactyl or something like that… yep thats how I roll.
  • Overwhelmed at YOUR response to our challenge to help the flood victims in North Georgia… YOU filled 100 five gallon buckets with cleaning supplies!  Heading up to Westridge Church in the morning with a PACKED sixteen foot enclosed trailer to make the delivery… very cool!
  • Cant wait to kick off our new series “Say What” next week… what is “Say What” about?  You will have to show up to find out 😉
  • I am so proud to pastor Lifesong church!
