Sunday night thoughts…

  • Today was an AWESOME DAY… two people received Christ today!  That is why Lifesong is here… seeing people cross over the line of faith NEVER gets old!
  • The band sounded incredible today… much thanks to Danny for sitting in on the acoustic guitar!
  • Thank you to everyone who helped load out today… movies starting at 11:45 make for a challenge but you guys made it happen!  The side benefit of coming to Lifesong is that you get to the restaurants BEFORE the church crowd 😉 !
  • Really looking forward to our next message series, Stand… the band may even cover a Poison song for it (Hair bands RULE)!
  • Many of you signed up to help at the Fourth of July parade this coming Friday.  You will getting an email from me this week with instructions.  If you want to help send me an email at mark@lifesonglive.com.
  • Several of us tried to watch fireworks tonight put on by another local church… God decided to show us some of His own and we got rained out 😦 … maybe Friday night…
  • May we NEVER take for granted what God is doing through Lifesong.

Check this out…

There is a really cool website that has just launched to help people find churches in their area.  I thought about putting the info on the site, but I figure you can do a better job than me!  Take a couple of minutes to check out THIS SITE and tell the world what you love about Lifesong church (you get extra credit if you brag on the good looking Pastor 😉 ).  You never know what IMPACT your comment might make for the Kingdom.

10 Commandments of Marraige…

  1. I will have no other human relationship before my spouse – including the kids.
  2. I shall remember date night and keep it holy.
  3. I will remember birthdays, anniversaries, and other special occasions so that it may go well with me and that I may live a long time in the land that God has provided.
  4. I will always work on my marriage.
  5. I shall not spend time alone with someone of the opposite sex or travel alone.
  6. I shall not talk about my spouse in a negative manner.
  7. I shall not ever discuss the intimate details of my marriage with anyone other than my spouse.
  8. I shall not watch pornography or expose myself to other elicit materials that would cause me to lust after other women and devalue my spouse to a mere sex object.
  9. I shall not confuse fantasy and reality.
  10. I shall remember the implications of breaking the 7th commandment.

Sunday night thoughts…

  • Good day today… although I have GOT to stop preaching so long.  Forty minutes is too much of a good thing 🙂 .
  • We added some staging and a new sub to the sound system… man, we should have done that a while ago!  It was awesome having the extra room and the sound was amazing!
  • Today’s message was difficult, but necessary.  We, as pastors, sometimes sidestep difficult subjects when we shouldn’t.
  • It was cool have Steve and Lynn Wood with us today.  Steve pastors The River church down in Kathlyn. GA an they are doing some amazing things there.  We visited his church as a launch team before we launched and he wanted to drop in and check on us… very cool!
  • Lots of fun was had yesterday at the Family Fun Day… good food, water games and lots of laughs.
  • Our volunteers are amazing.  I can not express how proud I am of each of you!

Jump…

We took our two girls swimming for the first time this summer (with me) yesterday and an amazing thing happened.  Emma my three year old daredevil wouldn’t jump into the water… even with Daddy standing there with outstretched arms, it wasn’t happening.  This is the same kid that last summer had no fear and would jump ANYWHERE as long as Dad was there to catch her.  I guess that the time away from a pool had diminished her trust me.

There is a spiritual principle here.  The more time we spend away from our Heavenly Father the less likely we are to risk for Him.  Even though He has been there in the past to “catch” us, time and circumstances cloud our memory.  I know when we started Lifesong, we were completely dependant on Him for EVERYTHING and we were willing to take huge risks and I NEVER want that to stop!  In order for that to happen we must spend time with our Heavenly Father.

Where is God asking you to jump?

Sunday night thoughts…

  • OK… its officially Summer.  Really off in attendance today.
  • Katlyn and Logan became the first babies dedicated at Lifesong… very cool.
  • Much thanks to Jeremiah for filling in today with the band!
  • Sorry Guys… it was either buy gifts for Fathers Day or purchase a second trailer… we went with the trailer 🙂
  • Jason did another great job with the video roll in… it made me giggle.  Thanks bro!
  • Several of you signed up for this Saturdays Family Fun Day and volunteering for the Fourth of July parade… if you missed your chance to sign up send an email to lifeline@lifesonglive.com to sign up.
  • It was a tough day for me today… really difficult to deliver the message
  • I am excited about this series and I hope that it makes a difference in our guys.  THIS is my prayer for all of us Dudes.
  • Favorite quote of the day… speaking to me “Man… DJ last night and preacher this morning.”  I am pretty sure that’s not said alot 😉
  • That’s it, I am going to do my Fathers Day ritual and finish watching the US OPEN… the GREATEST test in SPORTS!

I love being a dad…

My kids surprised me with my fathers day celebration today (Sunday mornings are a little busy around our house 🙂 ).  My gift was wrapped in custom decorated paper complete with a poem… a hand made card… then my three year old danced for me in her Cinderella dress and my oldest sang me a song (kind of, she is a little shy).  I am not the best Dad, but THEY are the best kids I could ever be blessed with… I love being a dad!

I learned sign-language for this…

At what point did the guy dancing on the back row decide this was a bad idea 😉

Lesson’s from a beer man…

Sometimes you find wisdom is unexpected places… THIS is a great reminder for me and the pastor of Lifesong church to be the church that God has called us to be and nothing else.
