Sunday night thoughts…

• WOW… awesome day today.  I was PLEASANTLY suprised at our attendance today!  I knew of at least THIRTY people who were NOT going to be there today, but we had a really good crowd.
• The band stepped up BIG again today… GREAT job!
• Several new guys playing today… much props to Jon, Cary and Ryan, you guys rocked!
• I am so proud of Lifesong for stepping up with our BLESSING TREE… several presents came in today and more of the tags were taken… you guys are going to make a HUGE impact in several families this Christmas!
• It is awesome to have so many of our volunteers out today and still not miss a beat because so many of YOU buy into the vision of Lifesong… YOU are making a difference!
• The month of November has seen the HIGHEST giving in the history of Lifesong… because YOU ae so faithful in your giving, Lifesong is able to continue to make an IMPACT in this community.  It is also an indicator of healthy church… VERY COOL!
• It was good to have Kevin Garrison (I would put a link to his blog, but he NEVER updates it 🙂 )and his family visiting with us today… Kevin is a good friend and has made a big impact on me… be praying for them as they get ready to launch Resolution church.
• We had a tech glich, so no podcast today… thats a shame because it was THE GREATEST MESSAGE OF ALL TIME 😉
• I am so stinkin’ excited about our new series LOVE REVOLUTION that starts next week… I believe that this could be the most important series that we have done yet… I am trusting God to stretch and CHALLENGE us like never before.
• Speaking of that… be looking for something in you mailbox this week.
• I am so glad to be a part of this MOVEMENT that is Lifesong church!  The best is yet to come!

Really bad day…

Sunday night thoughts…

• The band was off the hook today… seriously!  You guys WORSHIPED and it was AWESOME!
• We purchased a new light board thingy and it took our lights to a new level… cant wait to see it when our production team really has a chance to figure it out.
• Much props to Brian, Josh and Greg for stying up WAY TOO LATE Friday night and getting the new lighting set up.
• We had a great start to our BLESSING TREE today.  We are adopting FIVE families from two local elementary schools and providing presents for them.  There are still ALOT of tags left but it was a GREAT start!  Really proud of you!
• I did a video shoot before the service for a roll in for an upcoming series (Media guru Jason was with the band) with a fancy pro camera… I am an idiot and never hit the right button to record so we had to do it all over tonight… thanks for those of you that were willing to come over and film in the cold to get it done.
• Just finished up with a creative meeting to plan some upcoming series… we have some REALLY good things coming up… stay tuned!
• I had an issue just before the service that I handled really BAD… I snapped on a worker at the theater.  I acted like the BUTTHOLE CHRISTIAN that I hate to this guy and I shouldn’t have.  I apologized to him a little latter, but I think that damage had been done.   I don’t know the condition of this guys soul, but I pray that I didn’t create a stumbling block for him. 

Friday five…

Questions that I am wrestling with…

• Am I willing to get to the point that I remove myself from EVERYTHING but preaching, leading and casting the vision of Lifesong church?  Got to be honest… I like being involved in stuff, even those things that I shouldn’t be.
• Am I delegating AUTHORITY or RESPONSIBLTY? There is a HUGE difference.
• Am I willing to give up CONTROL in order to see Lifesong go to the next level?
• Are we investing all our resources (money, people & momentum) wisely?
• If I walked into Lifesong church as the new Pastor what would I change?
• Am I leading Lifesong from the OVERFLOW of what God is doing in my life? (that’s a bonus… I don’t math 🙂 )

Why the movie theater…

Sunday night thoughts…

• Solid day today… several guests in service today. 
• I hate that the Winter schedule has started with the theater… but you guys absolutely ROCKED load-out today.  The trailers rolled out of the parking lot BEFORE 12!  I am sure that’s a record.
• Wore a suit today to illustrate how we focus on the outside but Jehovah Tsidkenu focuses on what is on the inside… but I did look GOOD 😉 !  Listen to the podcast here.
• Its hard to get dressed in a suit behind a theater screen while the music was going… kind of felt like Tommy Boy. 
• Got my inner redneck on and went to a gun show Saturday morning… they have very interesting books for sale at gun shows 🙂
• The band sounded great (again) today… Cary did an AWESOME job on the drums!  He may have the biggest drum kit I have ever seen… very cool!
• The band warmed up during soundcheck with a little “Freebird” today… I knew it was going to be a good day.
• The Worship Diva (Jenny) was not feeling well this morning, but she pushed through… if you think about it send up a prayer for her.
• Things are good right now at Lifesong… but I want to go to another level in EVERYTHING that we do.  God (and those guests walking through the doors) deserves our best.
• I am praying that God stretches us in a BIG way in the next few weeks.

Friday five…

Pet Peeves:

• Minivans driving in the fast lane.
• Close talkers… you know who you are.
• People who are cooler than me…
• The word missional… heck, I’ll throw in post-modern too (this ones for the pastors in the crowd)
• Any movie with Owen Wilson…

Sunday night thoughts…

• Awesome day… really good vibe today!
• The band was INCREDIBLE… that might have been the best that I have heard them… no kidding
• You guys blow me away with your generosity… the last two weeks have been the strongest offerings that Lifesong has ever had.  Thank you for believing in the vision of the Song!
• Had fun kicking off out new series “God is…” maybe too much!  Find out what intercourse, nunchucks and Jehovah Rohi have in common in the podcast.
• Our Madagascar Premier was awesome… lots of balloons, face painting, dancing and invites to Lifesong… lots of fun (even if one of the volunteers threatened to punch me in the throat if I made her paint another Giraffe;-) 
• Speaking of our volunteers… you are awesome (EVEN the violent ones).  The Winter schedule started today at the theater, so we had to break down really fast, and you knocked it out.  I am so jacked up at all of the new people stepping up and getting involved!  Thank you!
• I feel that God wants to really challenge us this Christmas in our giving… be listening for more soon.
• Have a planning meeting with the city tomorrow to help plan a Christmas event… the city called US!  I love the fact that they know who to call when they need help.
• I love you guys… and I am honored to be your pastor.
