Girls night…

rambo_wideweb__470x2770.jpg

Just found out that there are ALOT of you girls going out this Saturday!  I know that ya’ll are going to get something to eat and go watch a movie… might I suggest the new RAMBO movie, its perfect for a chic flick.  If you haven’t done it yet, get in touch with our SMOKIN’ HOT children’s director (rumor has it that she sleeps with the pastor!) at tammy@lifesonglive.com and let her know that you are going.

Sunday night thoughts…

  • It was GREAT to be back this week!  I was so excited about having service today I couldn’t sleep lat night.
  • Today’s message was the hardest that I have preached at Lifesong… especially the part where I told you to find another church of you weren’t going to grow up and take your next step.
  • I was amazed that, even missing last week, our giving in January was virtually the same as December.  I just signed the ministry checks that we send out at the end of the month… I love the fact that we are a church that is KINGDOM minded!
  • Today’s service felt “off”… you could tell that we had been out for a couple of weeks!
  • The sound guy “flirted” with me during the message… I am not sure if I should be flattered or not 🙂
  • We did a video shoot this afternoon for next weeks message, yes I will be signing autographs…
  • I am praying about doing something unbelievably reckless and dumb in a couple of weeks, you don’t want to miss a Sunday.
  • We had our first creative meeting to plan out our next series, “Desperate Houselives.”  It is going to be AWESOME!  I cant wait!
  • I will be speaking at the “Rotary Club” this Wednesday morning and share the story of Lifesong, if you think about it say a prayer for me.

Sunday night thoughts…

  • I HATED not having services today… especially when I woke up and there was NO ICE on the roads!  I know it was the right decision based on the info that we had at the time, but I didn’t like making it… especially when the forecast didn’t play out.
  • It has been a good day of rest… that’s a nice change for Sunday.
  • I cant wait till next Sunday… I will have sat on this message for two weeks, I am READY to preach!
  • It was fun having a snowball fight with the girls yesterday… I was bummed that we didn’t have enough to sled, maybe next time.
  • I need some help planning for our next sermon series, Desperate Houselives… if you are creative let me know.
  • Lets pick up where we left off last week!  It is going to be AWESOME… be there and BRING someone with you!

BLIZZARD 2008…

As much as it hurts me to do this… we are calling off services tomorrow.  Everbody enjoy your family and get outside and make a snowman!  See you next week… now I’ve got to go to the store and buy some milk.

I can see the floor…

I have spent the day cleaning up my home office and I am proud to say that after several hours I can actually see the floor!  Man, its amazing how much crap I have accumulated over the last several months.  Its a pain, but it really feels good to clean out all that junk, get organized and become more productive…

The Bible says in Hebrews 12:1 that “we must get rid of everything that slows us down, especially the sin that just won’t let go.”  Just like with my office, our lives can become cluttered with junk that keeps us from experiencing God’s best and living up to our potential.  What do you need to throw out?  Its a pain, but its worth it.

Sunday night thoughts…

  • All I can say about today is WOW!
  • Today was the highest attendance we have had since our first preview service!  Tons of guests and great feedback… just an awesome day!
  • The band was awesome today… even with two of our regulars out they ROCKED!  Seriously, we are blessed.
  • I really felt like I struggled today delivering the message… I am glad God works in my weakness.
  • We had 19 kids in Kids Craze today!  That is cool!
  • I really feel that we are at the beginning of an awesome move of God… and its just the beginning!
  • Did I mention that we had our HIGHEST attendance today!  VERY COOL!
  • God continues to bless this church in our finances.
  • Man, I cant wait till next week!

Are you disturbed???

A quote by Sir Francis Drake…

“Disturb us, Lord, when we are too well pleased with ourselves. When our dreams have come true because we dreamed too little. When we arrive safely because we have sailed too close to the shore. Disturb us, Lord.”

WOW… that’s my prayer for my life and for Lifesong church.  How disturbed are you?

Good timing…

Its funny how God’s timing works.  I just left the post office dropping off the 10,000 postcards to be mailed and found out that another church (A REALLY BIG ONE) is doing a mailing at the same time!  My first thought was… “Oh CRAP!!!  We just wasted $1000 dollars!”  I know that I shouldn’t think this way, but that was what I thought.

I get in to the office and fire up the computer and this is the first thing that is on my Bloglines… Sometimes God knows that I need a little perspective and to be reminded that its about building the Kingdom, not Lifesong church.

I am sick as…

Well I dont know, but I feel horrible.  At this point death would be an upgrade.  If you think about it say a prayer, there is too much to get done for me to be sick.  Hey… whats thet bright light…
